The Company
The Company was founded in 1964 by Prof. M. B. Jamiolkowski as one of the first Italian geotechnical engineering consulting offices. Over the years the Company has grown significantly and diversified its range of activities.
Whilst soil mechanics and foundation engineering represent the Company's traditional fields of operation, these have gradually expanded to include the full range of services that SGI is able to provide today. The Company can now offer a personalized service to suit Client requirements, ranging from consultancy assignment on specific subjects to fully developed design and construction control.
Through a dedication to quality and innovation SGI is at the forefront of technological development, whilst continuous involvement in specialist activities keeps staff abreast of broader issues in the construction industry and environmental design.
Since 1964 SGI has been active world-wide, acquiring a recognised international experience and reputation, as well as a large soil engineering database. Public authorities as well as leading private companies and industrial groups are among SGI's traditional clients.
