Studio Geotecnico Italiano S.r.l is a private Engineering Consultant with experience in consultancy, design and supervision in the following fields:

  • Geotechnical engineering;
  • Environmental engineering;
  • Tunnelling;
  • Engineering seismology and soil dynamics;

  • Health & Safety Planning;
with an annual turnover of over 5.5/6.0 million €.

The Company was founded in 1964 by Prof. M. Jamiolkowski as one of the first Italian geotechnical engineering consulting offices. Over the years Studio Geotecnico Italiano has carried out more than 8.500 assignments world-wide, acquiring a recognized international experience and reputation, as well as a large soil engineering database.
Industrial group and private company as well as Public authorities are among traditional clients.
The Company can offer a personalized service to suit Client requirements, ranging from consultancy assignment on specific subjects to fully developed design and construction control.

Staff


Specialised Staff represent by far the main resource of Studio Geotecnico Italiano. The Company recruiting policy is oriented to select only staff of the highest calibre. Constant attention is paid to continuing education of all staff through involvement in applied research, courses and international conferences.

Continuous scientific update of the staff is also guaranteed by the constant link with Academic Community, and outstanding amongst the staff are university professors:
  • Prof. MICHELE JAMIOLKOWSKI (SGI founder and Chairman)
    Emeritus Professor of Geotechnical Engineering, Technical University of Turin; President of the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering for the period 1993 – 1997 and Chairman of the International Committee for the Safeguard of the Tower of Pisa;

  • Prof. EZIO FACCIOLI
    Professor of Engineering Seismology at the Technical University of Milan; Director of International Association of Earthquake Engineering, from 2004; Member of Scientific Committee of BRGM (Bureaux de Recherches Geologique et Minieres) since 2007;

  • Prof. VITO NICOLA GHIONNA
    Professor of Geotechnical Engineering at the Technical University of Turin; Member of the Commission of the Civil Prediction Department for the Study of the Collapse Pavia Tower; Director of the Post Graduate Environmental Engineering School at Faculty of Engineering University of Reggio Calabria, from 1999 to 2003.
